Iconic Architectures Turned into Illustrations

"Iconic Architecture: Illustrations" is the name of the project commissioned to the Italian graphic designer and illustrator Andrea Minini by the advertising agency Studioverde and the company Progress Profiles. In this project, she created 13 different illustrations of famous buildings from around the world using the Moiré Patterns technique. This technique involves an interference pattern that forms when two grids of lines are overlaid at a certain angle, or when such grids have slightly different sizes.

Some of the iconic architectures included the Louvre Pyramid in Paris, the distinctive structural design of the National Stadium in Beijing, the world's tallest building, the Burj Khalifa located in Dubai, and the curvilinear shapes of the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, among others.

What's impressive about this project is that Minini managed to create such precisely structured line compositions that leave no doubt about the identity of each building when viewing each illustration. Furthermore, the company Progress Profiles has used these illustrations as vectors in many of their internal and external communications as part of their corporate image.
